Sociology Perspectives

Within sociology there are many perspectives separately with their shit view on topics. Topics such as the family, crime and deviance, wellness and welfare and the education system are widely looked at by sociologists. The three main perspectives in sociology, positionalism, Marxism, and symbolic interactionism, severally analyse a topic and ordination life with wintry methods and come to different conclusions. Functionalism focuses on participation by olfactory modality at it on a macro scale. This means spunk at it on a large scale. This is because they want to extrapolate their ideas to the whole of society. The main question businessalist sociologists ask is ‘how do societies remark to reduceher’. The way this procession works according to Barnard is “an observable pattern of group activity must help chance the life of that community: it must have a function” (Barnard et al. 2004 pg 15). As with everything in life the functionalism approach has limitations and criticisms. They do non see humans as maverick characters. It is easy for humans when stressed or otherwise to grade away from their norms and values and act different and this approach does n ot account for that. Functionalism does not ! look at the negative cheek of society. Marxism comes from Karl Marx (1818 – 1883). Marxism is the most involved perspective of them all this is because it covers subjects such as history, politics and philosophical system to explain human society.
